Whether served as a centerpiece at a dinner party or as a treat after a quiet dinner, this Pistachio Tiramisu is sure to be a hit with your guests.
Ingredients (Serves 8-10)
For the Pistachio Filling:
- Mascarpone cheese – 450g (1 ½ cups)
- Heavy cream – 240ml (1 cup)
- Granulated sugar – 100g (½ cup)
- Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
- Pistachio paste – 3 tablespoons (or ground pistachios)
- Pistachios, crushed – 50g (¼ cup)
For the Ladyfinger Layer:
- Ladyfingers – 200g (about 24 biscuits)
- Strong brewed coffee – 240ml (1 cup), cooled
- Sugar – 1 tablespoon
- Kahlua (optional) – 2 tablespoons
For Garnish:
- Crushed pistachios – 30g (2 tablespoons)
- Cocoa powder – 1 tablespoon (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Pistachio Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese and heavy cream until smooth and creamy.
- Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and continue whisking until the mixture becomes thick and slightly stiff.
- Stir in the pistachio paste (or ground pistachios) and mix until fully incorporated. If you’re using ground pistachios, ensure that they’re finely ground so they blend well into the cream mixture.
- Gently fold in the crushed pistachios for added texture and flavor. Set aside.
2. Prepare the Coffee Layer:
- In a shallow bowl, combine the cooled coffee with sugar and Kahlua (if using). Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them too long (just a quick dip is enough). The ladyfingers should be moist but not soggy.
3. Assemble the Tiramisu:
- In a 9x9-inch (or similar sized) baking dish, spread a thin layer of the pistachio filling mixture to cover the bottom of the dish.
- Arrange a layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers on top of the filling, making sure they fit tightly together.
- Spread half of the remaining pistachio filling over the ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.
- Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers over the filling, followed by the rest of the pistachio filling.
- Smooth the top layer of filling, then cover the dish with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly.
4. Serve & Garnish:
- Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with a light sprinkle of cocoa powder (optional), and garnish with crushed pistachios for extra crunch and flavor.
- Cut the tiramisu into squares and serve chilled for the perfect creamy and nutty dessert experience.

Tips & Tricks for the Best Pistachio Tiramisu
✔ Use Fresh Pistachios – If you’re using ground pistachios, make sure to use fresh pistachios that are unsalted. Toast them lightly in a pan for extra flavor before grinding them.
✔ Don’t Overdip the Ladyfingers – It’s important to dip the ladyfingers just briefly in the coffee mixture, as they can become too soggy if left in the liquid for too long.
✔ Let it Set – This dessert is best served after it’s had time to chill in the fridge. Let it rest for at least 4 hours or overnight for the best flavor and texture.
✔ Non-Alcoholic Option – If you prefer not to use Kahlua, you can skip it or add a teaspoon of almond extract for a unique flavor twist.
✔ Customization – Add some chocolate shavings or chopped white chocolate between the layers for an extra indulgence.
